SIGMA MICRO W Front Light

This light has been a complete disappointment:
- It’s not remarkably bright (the $5 Bell lights from walmart are at least as bright).
- The “unlimited mounting options” are 2 dinky velcro straps, one very short, one long with velcro only at the tips. The underside of it is a curved rubber surface which immediately limits you to basically either mounting it on your handlebars (rather pointless for a rear-facing red blinking light), sideways-mounting on the seat post (it’s bound to get moved within minutes), or having only slight contact, and thus almost no friction with whatever other non-tube-shaped surface you come up with (underside of seat, rack, helmet — all hopeless)
- There is something wrong with the contacts: on many occasions, I turn it on, and 10-30 minutes later turn around to notice that it turned off.
- It got shipped with 2 almost-dead coin batteries.
All these problems cropped up within the first week of use. Should’ve returned it, but wasn’t worth the trouble.
Stay away from this light.

Nice looking, but poorly assembled, this is the second sigma that I have purchased, the first one: the button stopped working, I thought maybe I got a lemon, but now the second one is starting to exhibit the same problem, too bad, I really liked the design of this product.

I wanted something small that could easily be put on and taken off – wasn’t looking for the industrial bike light – and this is it. It weights basically nothing and easily velcros together and apart. I also liked the velcro attachment because you can easily attach this light anywhere, besides on your handbars, like on your bike helmet or clothing.

These little guys are actually pretty good. I had the front and the back on my last bike. I liked them because they are tiny and I didn’t want some huge honkin thing on my handlebars and in the back. They are just single LEDs but they are pretty bright especially when the battery is good. The battery lasts a few months and after that they start to get dim, but hey batteries don’t last forever.

Attractive, easy to attach and extremely light. Unfortunately, it is also too weak to last.
